Business Analyst - Contractor - Remote (UK/Europe)

We are looking for a Business Analyst on a contract basis to support a key data project within the Toyota group. This role will suit someone who is analytical, proactive, and comfortable working with stakeholders across different teams and geographies. The successful candidate will assess and evaluate over existing internal reports currently used across the Toyota Group of companies, with the aim of potentially centralising reporting or some parts of the processes within our part of the group.

Project Overview

The purpose of this project is to gain a deep understanding of the existing reporting landscape across multiple companies within the Toyota group, identify overlaps and inefficiencies, and ultimately define a clear plan for consolidation and ownership of reporting.

You will:

• Review reports used across different Toyota companies.
• Document data requirements, sources, dependencies, and users.
• Conduct interviews with stakeholders to clarify business logic and usage, where necessary.
• Identify where source data originates from, across multiple data warehouses and ingestion pipelines.
• Analyse and map data transformations needed to recreate reports in a centralised format.
• Provide recommendations for whether to replicate, migrate, or retire each report.
• Deliver an initial summary assessment report of all existing reports.
• Work with the technical team to produce and deliver on a longer-term consolidation and implementation plan.

Key Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in a data-heavy environment.
• Strong understanding of data pipelines, transformations, and reporting requirements.
• A knowledge of with SQL, stored procedures, Postgres, Redshift, and BI/data exploration tools.
• Excellent communication skills with a structured, inquisitive, and pragmatic approach.
• Ability to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Capable of independently driving progress in an exploratory or partially-defined project.
• Ability to synthesise complex information and present clear, actionable findings.

Desirable

• Fluency in Italian is highly preferred.
• Experience working in large enterprise or multinational environments.
• Knowledge of Toyota business processes or automotive industry data.

Contract Details

• Location: Remote (within Europe)
• Contract Type: Contractor (outside IR35 for UK-based contractors)
• Duration: Initial 3 months, with potential extension based on outcomes
• Start Date: ASAP
• Rate: Competitive, based on experience
